What does a SAP PP-PI Consultant do?
An SAP PP-PI Consultant works with process manufacturing, planning, quality, supply chain and operational teams to design, configure and improve SAP Production Planning for Process Industries.
The role is commonly used across SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing, ECC, rollout, upgrade and BAU support environments where employers need strong batch-oriented manufacturing knowledge, fit-gap control, testing support and practical process industry experience.

- Support areas such as master recipes, resources, production versions, process orders, batch management, confirmations and material staging
- Run fit-gap workshops, design reviews, process walkthroughs and process manufacturing testing activity
- Write functional specifications for reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms or workflows where needed
- Resolve defects, support integration testing, UAT, cutover, go-live and hypercare activity
- Help transition SAP PP-PI changes into BAU with clear documentation and user guidance
Key skills to look for
- SAP PP-PI consulting experience
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing, SAP ECC PP-PI and process manufacturing
- Configuration experience across recipes, resources, process orders, batches, confirmations and planning
- Fit-gap, testing, defect resolution and functional specification experience
- Ability to work with manufacturing, quality, procurement, warehouse and technical teams
- Clear judgement on standard SAP, process manufacturing design, compliance and long-term supportability
