What does a SAP Technical Consultant do?
An SAP Technical Consultant works with functional consultants, architects, developers, Basis teams and business stakeholders to design, build, test and support technical SAP solutions.
The role is commonly used across SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SAP BTP, ABAP, integration, Fiori and support environments where employers need technical delivery skills, clean core awareness, issue resolution and practical SAP platform knowledge.

- Work with functional consultants, architects, developers, Basis teams, testers and implementation partners
- Support unit testing, integration testing, UAT, defect resolution, deployment and hypercare activity
- Troubleshoot SAP technical issues across application, integration, authorisation or performance areas
- Help transition technical changes into BAU with clear documentation, support notes and knowledge transfer
Key skills to look for
- SAP technical consulting experience
- Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SAP BTP or ABAP-based technical delivery
- Knowledge of SAP extensions, integrations, reports, forms, workflows or technical troubleshooting
- Awareness of clean core, upgrade-safe development and long-term supportability
- Ability to work with functional, architecture, Basis, testing and business teams
- Clear judgement on technical risk, maintainability, performance and delivery impact
