An SAP UI5 Developer designs, builds, tests and supports SAPUI5 applications, usually working with functional consultants, UX specialists, ABAP developers, security teams and business users.

The role is commonly used across SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP and SAP Fiori environments where employers need responsive SAP apps, better user adoption, role-based access and practical front-end development support.

• Building SAPUI5 applications for SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP or Fiori landscapes
• Enhancing standard Fiori apps, launchpad content, tiles, spaces, pages or user journeys
• Connecting UI5 applications with OData services, APIs and SAP back-end processes
• Improving SAP user experience, responsiveness, usability and adoption
• Adding UI5 development capability to projects, testing, deployment, hypercare or BAU support

• Build SAPUI5 applications in line with approved UX, technical and security standards
• Develop UI components, controllers, views, models, OData integrations and launchpad content
• Support SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Gateway, Fiori launchpad, SAP Build and Fiori elements activity where relevant
• Work with functional consultants, UX designers, ABAP developers, security teams, Basis teams and implementation partners
• Test UI5 applications across unit testing, system integration testing, UAT, browser checks and deployment phases
• Resolve defects, usability issues, performance problems, authorisation issues and production support incidents
• Document technical designs, app behaviour, launchpad setup, deployment steps and support guidance

• SAPUI5 development experience
• Strong understanding of SAP Fiori, SAP S/4HANA, SAP BTP and role-based UX
• Knowledge of OData, SAP Gateway, APIs, JavaScript, UI components and front-end debugging
• Experience with custom SAPUI5 apps, Fiori elements, app extensions or launchpad configuration
• Ability to work with functional, UX, ABAP, security, Basis and testing teams
• Clear judgement on usability, performance, maintainability, accessibility and long-term supportability
