An SAP Functional Consultant works with business users, process owners and technical teams to understand requirements, design SAP processes and configure the system to support agreed ways of working.

The role is commonly used across SAP S/4HANA, ECC, RISE with SAP, rollout, upgrade and support environments where employers need practical module knowledge, fit-gap control and clear communication between business and delivery teams.

• Implementing or improving SAP S/4HANA, ECC or RISE with SAP processes
• Translating business requirements into SAP configuration and functional design
• Supporting fit-gap analysis, workshops, testing, training and go-live readiness
• Reducing reliance on custom development by using standard SAP capability where suitable
• Adding module-specific knowledge to projects, enhancements or BAU support activity

• Gather and analyse business requirements across agreed SAP modules or process areas
• Configure SAP processes, settings and master data rules in line with approved design
• Run workshops, fit-gap sessions, process reviews and design discussions with business users
• Write functional specifications for reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms or workflows where needed
• Support unit testing, integration testing, UAT, defect resolution and deployment readiness
• Work with developers, Basis teams, data teams, testers, architects and implementation partners
• Help transition SAP changes into BAU support with clear documentation and user guidance

• SAP functional consulting experience
• Strong understanding of one or more SAP modules or end-to-end business processes
• SAP S/4HANA, ECC, RISE with SAP or SAP Fiori awareness
• Configuration, fit-gap, testing and functional specification experience
• Ability to work with business users, technical teams and delivery partners
• Clear judgement on standard SAP, customisation, usability and supportability
