An SAP Functional Lead leads functional delivery across one or more SAP modules or business process areas, working between business users, process owners, consultants, architects and technical teams.

The role is commonly used across SAP S/4HANA, ECC, RISE with SAP and rollout programmes where employers need senior ownership of fit-gap analysis, configuration decisions, functional design, testing and go-live readiness.

• Leading functional delivery for an SAP module, process area or workstream
• Supporting SAP S/4HANA, ECC, RISE with SAP or rollout programmes
• Managing fit-gap activity, configuration decisions and functional design quality
• Coordinating consultants, business users, testers and technical teams
• Reducing delivery risk by giving SAP functional activity clear ownership and direction

• Lead SAP functional design, configuration and delivery activity across assigned modules or process areas
• Run workshops, fit-gap sessions, design reviews and functional decision forums
• Coordinate SAP functional consultants, business users, process owners and implementation partners
• Review configuration, functional specifications, process designs, testing outputs and defect resolution
• Support SAP Activate phases from explore and realise through testing, deployment and run
• Challenge unclear requirements, weak design choices and unnecessary customisation where standard SAP fits
• Help transition SAP functional changes into BAU with clear documentation, ownership and support handover

• SAP functional leadership experience
• Strong understanding of one or more SAP modules or end-to-end business processes
• SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SAP Activate and Fiori awareness
• Configuration, fit-gap, testing and functional specification experience
• Ability to lead consultants and coordinate business, technical and supplier teams
• Clear judgement on standard SAP, customisation, usability and supportability
