An SAP Functional Stream Lead leads functional activity across a specific SAP stream, making sure requirements, fit-gap decisions, configuration, testing and deployment readiness stay aligned to the wider programme plan.

The role is commonly used on SAP S/4HANA, ECC, RISE with SAP and rollout programmes where employers need clear ownership across a functional stream such as finance, supply chain, procurement, manufacturing, sales or HR.

• Leading a functional stream within an SAP S/4HANA, ECC or RISE with SAP programme
• Coordinating consultants, business users, process owners and delivery partners
• Managing fit-gap, configuration, testing, defect resolution and readiness activity
• Improving control across functional design decisions, dependencies and escalations
• Reducing delivery risk by giving a major SAP workstream clear functional ownership

• Lead functional stream delivery across assigned SAP modules or business process areas
• Coordinate SAP functional consultants, business users, process owners, testers and technical teams
• Manage fit-gap sessions, configuration decisions, functional specifications and design approvals
• Track stream-level risks, issues, actions, decisions, dependencies, defects and readiness gaps
• Support SAP Activate phases from explore and realise through testing, deployment and run
• Challenge unclear requirements, unnecessary customisation and weak process ownership
• Prepare the functional stream for testing, cutover, go-live, hypercare and BAU support handover

• SAP functional stream leadership experience
• Strong understanding of one or more SAP modules or end-to-end process areas
• SAP S/4HANA, ECC, SAP Activate and Fiori awareness
• Fit-gap, configuration, testing and defect management experience
• Ability to lead consultants and coordinate business, technical and supplier teams
• Clear judgement on standard SAP, customisation, risk, usability and supportability
